Following the workshop on ‘𝘿𝙖𝙩𝙖 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙬𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙮: 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨’ co-hosted this past February by the European Commission (DG ENER) and EUREC – The Association of European Renewable Energy Research Centres – a statement to endorse data-friendly amendments to the upcoming Renewable Energy Directive revision (RED III) has been organised.
In particular, the statement highlights principles for an effective data sharing framework, namely:
- Agreements for accessing and possibly warehousing data
- Shared data to be of high quality and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable)
- Driven from the top
The statement has been endorsed by a number of organisations including INESC TEC and Mines Paris-PSL.
